About QR Code Generator

Type or paste the content you want to encode, pick a color pair and error correction level, and the QR code renders live in your browser. There is no upload step and no account - the encoding happens locally with nothing sent to a server.

Five content types are supported: URL, plain text, email (mailto link with optional subject), phone number (tel link), and Wi-Fi credentials (WPA/WEP/open networks, including hidden network support). Download the result as a PNG at 256, 512, or 1024 pixels, or copy the raw SVG for use in designs and documents.

Error correction levels L, M, Q, and H trade density for damage tolerance - higher levels keep codes scannable even when partially covered or scratched.

    QR Code Generator FAQ

Find answers to common questions about generating QR codes, choosing content types, and exporting them.

    Does the QR code expire?

No. QR codes are static images generated from your content. As long as the encoded link or text remains valid, the code works forever with no expiration date or subscription.

Can I use my own colors?

Yes. Pick any foreground and background color. For reliable scanning, keep a strong contrast between the two - dark code on a light background scans best on most phones.

    What is error correction level?

Error correction lets a scanner recover the code even when part of it is damaged or covered. Level L tolerates ~7% damage, M ~15%, Q ~25%, and H ~30%. Higher levels produce denser codes.

How do Wi-Fi QR codes work?

Scanning a Wi-Fi QR code with a phone camera (iOS 11+ or Android 10+) connects the device to the network automatically, including the password. The code encodes the network name, security type, and password.

How much text can I encode?

QR codes hold roughly 4,296 alphanumeric characters at the lowest error correction level. Very long content produces dense codes that may be hard to scan - the generator warns you when content is too long.

Is my content sent to a server?

No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Your content never leaves the device, which makes the tool safe for Wi-Fi passwords and private links.
